County Competitions


Congratulations to Laura Holden and Fraser Ham who have qualified for the Junior Ladies Pairs Finals. Laura partnered with Rebecca McMilan will play Imogen Cracknell and Emily Corner  in the Girls Final. In the boys Final Fraser partnered with Reece White will play Jack Groves and Sam Steel.


.Also congratulations to Andy Mace who has reached the Final of the Two Wood Competition.


Both of the above  now qualify for the National Finals at Leamington during August.


The following should also be congratulated on reaching the semi-final of the Men’s Fours Competition - Andy Mace, Alan Bradley, Dave Brightman & Garry Jay.

CLUB NIGHTS


Monday nights are Club Nights . If you fancy a convivial roll-up that evening then just turn up to start at about 6.30pm. Hopefully, we will be able to run Club Nights every Monday evening throughout the season, except for Bank Holiday Mondays, so we look forward to seeing you there. If for any reason a Club Night has to be cancelled there will be a message on the black board in the lounge. These Club Nights are for all bowlers  and are not exclusively aimed at our newer bowlers. Not only will you be able to meet some of our other club members, you will also be able to pass on some of your vast experience which will be of help other bowlers.

A BUSY WEEK FOR CLEVEDON PLAYERS


It has been a busy week for two Clevedon players Laura Holden and Stef Branfield.  


Last week end they played for the England in the British Isles Women’s Senior International Series in Llandrindod Wells, Wales, Teams from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Jersey took part and England comprehensively won the Series after defeating holders Scotland 114-93 in the final match.


On Saturday they played for the Somerset Senior team who beat Cornwall in the Johns Trophy by 153- 102 shots


Then on Sunday they both again played for Somerset, this time in the Walker Cup, and overcame Devon in a thrilling match by 38 – 32 shots.

MEN PROGRESS IN NATIONAL TOP CLUB


The men progress through round 2 at the expense of Portishead RBL with a resounding 4 - 1 victory.


The next round is to be played by 9th July when the opposition will be either Yatton or Victoria


Congratulations – BIBC and BIWBC International Series – Junior Internationals


Congratulations to Laura Holden on being selected for the above Series.  We wish you all the very best and we are sure you will be a credit to both the club and Somerset.  The series takes place at City of Derry BC, Londonderry, Northern Ireland on Saturday 22/23 July 2017.
